Where Are You in Your Working-Life Transition?
Take the Pre-Retirement and Career Alignment Assessment
This assessment helps you evaluate how closely your current work and future plans align with your aptitudes, values, priorities, and evolving sense of purpose.
Your questions and results will be tailored to your current stage, whether you are launching a career, reconsidering mid-career direction, or preparing for retirement.
Over time, most professionals experience shifts in motivation and direction as circumstances and priorities change. The process is straightforward: respond to each statement as candidly as possible. When you finish, you’ll receive your alignment score along with a clear interpretation of what it represents.
Your results will identify areas of alignment, reveal potential gaps, and provide a practical starting point for planning your next stage.
Pre-Retirement Coaching
Retirement is not an ending. It is a transition into a new stage of life that deserves deliberate planning.
For many professionals, leaving a long career can bring an unexpected loss of structure, identity, and community. Work often provides meaning, direction, and connection — and without thoughtful preparation, those foundations can weaken.
The Pre-Retirement Coaching program helps you define what comes next with greater clarity and intention. Using the eight modules contained in the Pre-Retirement Coaching Workbook, we’ll explore your strengths, motivations, and values, then develop a new rhythm for your days and a practical plan for continued growth, contribution, and fulfillment.
Leaving a career does not mean leaving purpose, contribution, or impact behind. It means deciding how those qualities will take shape in the next chapter of your life.
Pre-retirement coaching focuses on the personal and practical dimensions of life after work. It does not include investment, tax, legal, or other financial advice.
Career & Pre-Retirement Alignment Guide
Career transitions can expose a growing mismatch between your abilities, values, personality, and the life you want next. The Career and Pre-Retirement Alignment Guide explains how that misalignment develops across career launch, mid-career transition, and preparation for retirement. It provides a structured framework for understanding your natural abilities, personality, values, and purpose, and for evaluating the environments and decisions that fit you best.
Inside the guide, you’ll learn:
Why alignment changes across career and retirement transitions
How aptitude, personality, values, and purpose shape major decisions
Why certain roles energize you while others drain you
How to use a structured process to evaluate what should come next
It offers practical insight you can apply whether you are choosing a first direction, reconsidering mid-career, or preparing for life after work.
The Pathfinder Proccess
Every person is born with a unique combination of natural aptitudes, personality traits, and motivational patterns — the internal architecture that shapes how we think, learn, and solve problems.
The Pathfinder Process is used in both career coaching and pre-retirement coaching. It combines aptitude assessment, personality, motivation, values, and structured interpretation to help you understand how you are naturally wired and how that should influence the next stage of your life.
The Pathfinder Aptitude Assessment, grounded in decades of research and the O’Connor studies, measures thirteen core cognitive aptitudes that reveal how your mind naturally approaches work, analysis, and communication. It also explores personality and motivation, providing a complete picture of both how you think and why you’re drawn to certain kinds of challenges.
When your work and daily life align with these innate patterns, decisions become more coherent, sustainable, and personally meaningful. When it isn’t, frustration and self-doubt can arise — even in the most capable individuals.
The Pathfinder Process helps you understand your personal strengths, limitations, and preferences through objective data and structured interpretation. By aligning your next stage with your abilities, temperament, values, and priorities, you can make decisions with greater clarity and build a life that is both purposeful and sustainable.
How it Works
-
1. Clarify
We begin with a 30-minute conversation to explore your background, goals, current transition, and what you want from the next stage of your life.
This session builds self-understanding and defines the direction for our coaching relationship.
There is no cost or obligation. The conversation allows us to clarify your needs and determine whether coaching is an appropriate fit.
-
2. Discover
You’ll complete the Pathfinder Aptitude Assessment, designed to reveal how your mind naturally processes information, learns, and solves problems.
This combination of objective data and personal insight forms the foundation for every coaching decision that follows.
-
3. Connect the Dots
Together we interpret your results and link your abilities, values, and personal style.
This step helps determine what genuinely fits, what does not, and why.
-
4. Design
With greater clarity, we identify realistic options for your career or retirement, including time use, structure, contribution, and personal growth.
Each option is measured against your goals, priorities, and lifestyle needs.
-
5. Decide & Plan
We refine your choices into a focused, actionable plan.
By the end, you’ll have a focused direction and a practical plan for moving forward.
About Gedaliah
Before becoming a coach, Gedaliah spent more than twenty-five years leading research computing at NJIT, an R1 research university. As Director of High-Performance Computing, he built and led complex technical programs while working closely with students, faculty, researchers, and senior administrators. That work required not only technical judgment, but also patience, collaboration, and an understanding of how different people think and work.
Trained as a chemist, Gedaliah followed an unconventional path from laboratory science to advanced computing and later to coaching. His own experience with the Pathfinder Process helped clarify that transition and continues to shape his method today.
He now helps clients understand how aptitude, personality, values, and priorities should influence career decisions and life after work. His coaching is structured, evidence-based, and practical, with particular attention to purpose, identity, time use, structure, and the practical design of the next stage.
Gedaliah Wolosh, Ph.D. is a Rockport-trained coach who works with professionals navigating career change and preparing for retirement. His approach combines structured assessment, analytical reasoning, and careful attention to the individual’s values, motivations, and natural abilities.
